Music Monday - Lead Me

This song is amazing.

It is written from the perspective from a man about being everything he needs to be for his family. I think it's a very true sentiment.

The band members had this to say about the song:

"The song is kind of a father’s prayer for his family and wife. It’s an honest cry out to God saying, “If I’m going to lead my family, I need You to lead me.” I hope that hearing the story behind the song, and what went into writing it, will touch a lot of lives. It’s a powerful song! "

"It was written after Matt and his wife had a pretty gut-wrenching conversation, where she told him that she needed him to be a better spiritual leader to her and their family. "

A lot of wives that I know feel this same way.

I think (and this is my own opinion) that every wife has a desire for her husband to lead her. Why do you think men are supposed to lead when you dance? And this is especially true spiritually.

My favorite name for God is "Father" because to me, in implies the deepest love a man can have. I love the verse that talks about leading his children. So true. They may be independent on the outside, but inside they are still crying out to be led.

Same is true for us,

we are all children on the inside

and need to be led

by our Father.
