Music Monday - Before The Morning

a friend knowing we were having a rough go of it lately

led me to this song today.

I know it all could be worse, so much worse...

but in the few weeks,

we've had our dog die,

my son broke his wrist,

my baby is looking at impending surgery on her teeth,

Dave's alternator went out,

both mowers broke,

our van broke down and is beyond repair so we're down to one vehicle that we don't all fit in,

tonight, the water heater imploded so we have to buy a new one,

or rather... charge a new one :(

what next satan? Bring it on.

My 22 month old daughter prayed tonight at supper

out loud. She said "I love you Jesus" and "Thank you Jesus"

satan, you can try all you want...

you have no hold on us.

This is just a snapshot

and if I close my eyes, I can almost see

the big picture

in my lens.

Do you wonder why you have to
Feel the things that hurt you
If there’s a God who loves you where is He now

Maybe there are things you can’t see
And all those things are happening
To bring a better ending

Someday somehow you’ll see you’ll see

Would you dare would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing

Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning

My friend you know how this all ends
You know where you’re going
You just don’t know how you’ll get there
So say a prayer

And hold on cause there’s good for those who love God
But life is not a snapshot
It might take a little time but you’ll see the bigger picture

Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory

It’s just the hurt before the healing
Oh the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning

  1. Oh Michelle, I'm sorry you've had such a rough time lately. I hate that everything seems to happen all at once.

I hope you get some calm soon!

  2. "Just so happened to be" that this song has been playing a lot on satellite radio and my iPod the last few weeks.
